We were so lucky to have Marianne Knight and Anthony Hennigan in our school this week to do musical workshops with the children. Marianne is a very accomplished singer, musician and dancer and she played the button accordion, the bodhrán and the flute for the children. Anthony is also a very accomplished musician who showed the children the fiddle, guitar and mandolin. They taught the children irish songs, body percussion, dances and a few tunes on the melodic instruments. Marianne composed a beautiful song called 'Tooreen' and the children learned and performed it for the school and for the 6th Class Graduation Ceremony. A massive thank you to Marianne and Anthony for a wonderful day of music. The children really enjoyed it.
